Kilcrea Castle was built by Cormac Láidir MacCarthy, in the 15th century. The castle is almost encircled by trees and a thicket of shrubs but is mostly in good condition. Located in Co. Cork.

Old Glin Castle
The old castle ruins sit in the bed of a small river, close to its junction with the Shannon. Near it is an ancient bridge, where the only pass over the river was situated, which the castle was most probably built to protect.
